RANUNCULUS
ABOUT RANUNCULUS
Ranunculus are known for their paper-thin petals that stack into lush, full blooms. They have a similar feel to garden roses, but with a slightly more refined, almost sculptural shape which is why they photograph beautifully in weddings and editorials.
Seasonality: Late winter-Spring
Designer’s Tip: Let them open, don’t rush the process.
Ranunculus are at their most beautiful when they’re slightly blown open. If you’re designing for an event, process them a day or two ahead so they have time to fully unfurl. That’s when you get that buttery, layered, almost glowing look clients love.
DESIGNER’S TIP
Let them open—don’t rush the process.
Why I personally love them: They may look dainty to the eye, but hold over beautifully in and out of water. They are the perfect size for boutonnieres or mother’s corsages.
